SJVC Students “Thank a Teacher” for Teacher Appreciation Week
SJVC students celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8 by going to social media to shout out their favorite instructors. More than 80 of our students joined in on the Instagram and Facebook #thankateacher fun, leaving comments about their favorite instructors and how much they’ve helped their students succeed.
We held a random drawing of all the teachers who were “shouted out” on social media, and are happy to announce that Mr. Aminsalehi, a medical assisting instructor at SJVC Madera, is the winner of our $100 Amazon gift card giveaway. Congrats Mr. Aminsalehi! And thank you to all of our wonderful instructors for your dedication to SJVC students.

Jared shouted out Mrs. Rounsivill from the Fresno campus. He said, “She was the best teacher I have ever had. I use to run when times got hard from any situation. She challenged me mentally, pushed me in the direction I needed to go and always pushes her students to be the best they can be. She taught me when times get tough you got to get through it and you can do it and I am forever thankful!”
Krystal shared how much Mrs. Normine at the Ontario Campus has helped with her transition from SJVC’s Hesperia campus to Ontario. “I recently transferred from the Hesperia campus to Ontario and she definitely made me feel welcomed. She is an amazing instructor and really cares about her students. She makes sure you understand the material and she’s a great instructor/mentor/motivator; hope to have her again!
Tiffany shared, “I’d definitely have to say first and foremost Mrs. Carney from our Modesto SJVC. She is absolutely the best and most patient and kind-hearted. She genuinely cares about each and every one of her students. I’d also like to recognize Mrs. Baughn. She is also an awesome teacher that I believe goes above and beyond expectation. I absolutely loved being in the class with both these instructors!!!”
