SJVC Interview with Employer Adventist Health
Have you heard of Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week? National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week is observed the second Sunday in March and is an opportunity to learn more about the role of pulmonary rehabilitation in enhancing the quality of life of individuals with lung disease.
Chronic lung disease patients depend on respiratory therapists to get them through the acute exacerbations caused by their conditions. These patients need RTs to help them after the acute episode is over too, and that’s where pulmonary rehabilitation comes into play.
At SJVC we understand the importance of respiratory therapy and the role RTs play in helping patients of all ages battle breathing problems. In honor of National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week we spoke with Kevin Cole, Director of the Cardiopulmonary Department at the Adventist Health Clearlake Hospital, to learn more about his industry, what it takes to become a respiratory therapist, and why they like to hire graduates from SJVC.
