San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), an accredited family-owned college that offers certificate, associate and bachelor of science degree programs in the medical, business and technical fields, today announced a new campus in Santa Maria. The College is located at 303 Plaza Drive, Santa Maria, CA 93454.

The SJVC campus in Santa Maria will begin enrolling students in December and will provide a career-focused curriculum for several technical and industrial trades programs including:

  • Clinical Medical Assisting
  • Medical Office Administration
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R)
  • Business Office Administration

“Following the success of our new SJVC Atascadero campus in San Luis Obispo County, we are pleased to serve another growing community in California’s central coast and provide more students with practical, career-focused education programs,” said President of SJVC, Nick Gomez. “SJVC is focused on meeting the needs of local employers by preparing its graduates with job-ready skills. With this new campus, SJVC will play a key role in helping to develop the community and educate the next generation of professionals,” added Gomez. “We are honored and eager to become part of the Santa Maria community.”

Founded in 1977 by Robert and Shirley Perry in response to a growing need for professional instruction of local medical assistants in the San Joaquin Valley, SJVC is a second-generation, family-operated college that has 17 campuses throughout California.

The new SJVC Santa Maria campus will serve students in northern Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County, providing the training and skills that matter most to today’s employers.
