San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. completes acquisition of Carrington College
Carrington College Will Continue to Operate as a Separate Education Institution
San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. has completed its previously announced acquisition of Carrington College, a regionally-accredited institution that provides a career-focused curriculum in the allied health fields. San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. is now the parent organization of Carrington College and its existing San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a family-owned, California-based career college with a 41-year history and more than 60,000 graduates.
San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. will operate Carrington College and SJVC as separate education institutions, and it will maintain the Carrington College name and allied health programs. SJVC continues its career-focused programs in the medical, business and technical fields.
“We are very pleased to continue Carrington College’s high-quality, regionally accredited programs that help students prepare for professional success in their chosen career,” said Mike Perry, CEO of San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. “While Carrington College and SJVC will operate as separate education organizations, collectively we have more than 90 years of career college experience that we will leverage to benefit even more students, as well as our faculty and staff.”
Carrington College has 19 locations across the West Coast and Southwest as well as an online division, and offers certificate and associate degree programs in allied health fields. SJVC has 15 campuses throughout California and an online division, offering more than 20 certificate and associate of science degree programs. Both institutions are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC).
“For Carrington College, this is a positive step and opportunity to continue our important work of preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Donna M. Loraine, president of Carrington College, who remains in her leadership role. “We believe in our hands-on curriculum, the value our program offerings and credentials bring to our students, and our partnership with employers to meet their education and training needs. These commitments will only grow stronger with the support of our new San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. family.”
