SJVC Announces New Online Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management
Visalia, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2022) – San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a family-owned private college, is proud to announce a new Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management available online. The program may be completed in 135 weeks and prepares graduates to competitively enter the construction management field. SJVC students who have completed the Associate of Science degree program in Construction Management can earn their Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management in as few as 75 weeks. Those who have completed an Associate of Science in Construction Management from other institutions may apply to transfer in as well.
The new Bachelor of Science in Construction Management expands on the current Associate of Science degree program available online and at the SJVC Ontario campus. As part of the new program, students are provided comprehensive instruction on a wide variety of topics related to the construction industry. They are trained to prepare competitive project proposals, supervise construction sites, and effectively communicate with clients and workers. Students also learn how to manage the responsibilities they will face on the job at construction sites.
“We are pleased to see the Construction Management program expand beyond the SJVC Ontario campus and the Associate of Science degree online,” said Certified General Contractor (CGC) and Faculty for the online Construction Management program at SJVC, Tammy Good. “By offering this new Bachelor of Science degree program online, students will be able to continue their education and advance their career while helping more communities embrace the opportunities of a growing industry,” added Good. “We are looking forward to supporting these communities by helping them meet the demand for well-educated construction managers and various trade professionals.”
With increasingly complex infrastructures, construction managers have become integral in leading building projects through every phase of development. These programs help prepare students for managing both residential and commercial construction projects where they may go on to work as construction managers, cost estimators, and purchasing agents.
