SJVC Partners with Eisenhower Health to Address Medical Workforce Shortage in the Coachella Valley

SJVC Rancho Mirage and Eisenhower Health establish joint training program for future vocational nurses

San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a family-owned private college that provides a career-focused curriculum for students, is proud to announce a partnership with Eisenhower Health to address the workforce shortage of medical professionals in the Coachella Valley. The partnership includes a joint training Vocational Nursing program for Eisenhower Health employees that will be offered at the SJVC Rancho Mirage campus.

“At SJVC we have a commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve,” said Campus Director at SJVC Rancho Mirage, Rieko Decker. “With our shared values and trusted educational resources, we are proud to be partnering with Eisenhower Health. Through our new joint training program, Eisenhower Health employees will be able to take advantage of their valuable tuition reimbursement program while still pursuing an education,” added Decker.

As part of the Vocational Nursing (Weekend & Evening) program, Eisenhower Health employees will learn how to care for patients in SJVC’s diverse practice settings. With hands-on clinical training, the program enhances the learning experience for Eisenhower Health employees while allowing them to maintain full-time employment and continue advancing their career.

“With this new partnership, we will be in an even better position to help local employers embrace the opportunities of these jobs,” added Decker. “We can keep our vital healthcare workers local, while also keeping them employed with access to financial assistance through Eisenhower Health.”
