SJVCI – SBBC Acquisition Complete
San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. Completes Acquisition of Santa Barbara Business College
San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. (SJVCI) has completed its previously announced acquisition of Santa Barbara Business College (SBBC). SJVCI will now be the parent organization of SBBC, Carrington College and its existing San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC).
“We are pleased to be able to continue SBBC’s high-quality, accredited programs that help students prepare for professional success in their chosen career,” said CEO of SJVCI, Mike Perry. “With the addition of SBBC, we will be able to combine our career college experience in order to benefit even more students, as well as faculty and staff.”
Founded in 1888, SBBC has three locations across California as well as an online division. It offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in medical, business, legal and technology disciplines, plus a wide variety of shorter-term job-training programs. SBBC is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and the Accrediting Commissions of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
“This is an exciting milestone for SBBC and a tremendous opportunity for SJVCI to continue preparing the next generation of professionals,” said Scott DeBoer, president of SBBC. “For years SBBC has served an important role throughout California communities by building career-focused programs and key partnerships with local employers to meet their professional needs,” added DeBoer. “We are honored to pass on the legacy and well-being of SBBC to the Perry family given their proven track record in operating a similar quality career college.”
