Visalia campus hosts Children’s Christmas Party
More than 150 children attended this year’s December 19th Christmas party at the Visalia campus. SJVC Visalia enjoys the opportunity to give the children of students, staff and faculty a chance to meet Santa and celebrate the holiday together.
Kids of all ages enjoyed face-painting, crafts, games, watching Christmas movies and, most importantly, meeting Santa for a photo op. Each child received a “goodie” bag, along with a raffle ticket for a chance to win a special prize that included four bicycles and a decorated Christmas tree.
“The prizes were made possible by our campus clubs, such as the ENACTUS Club,” says Elisia Sanchez, Student Resource Coordinator. “They raised funds for the raffle by having various sales, dress down days, and donations from local stores.”
The Children’s Christmas Party is an annual event and something everyone on campus looks forward to each year. “Our holiday events are very much appreciated by our students and their children, who also enjoy visiting their parents’ school,” says Elisia. “We want to give our students and their families a place where they, too, can share in the tradition of Christmas.”
