EISENHOWER HEALTH
SJVC’s Rancho Mirage campus and Eisenhower’s partnership addresses the workforce shortage of medical professionals in the Coachella Valley with a joint training Vocational Nursing (Weekend & Evening) program. Eisenhower Health recognized SJVC’s expertise in providing quality vocational nursing education and let SJVC take the lead on the partnership, which allowed SJVC to make it easy for Eisenhower staff to participate. To accommodate Eisenhower’s staff, SJVC expanded the program availability to weekends and evenings. As part of this program, Eisenhower employees learn how to care for patients in SJVC’s diverse practice settings.

SETTON PISTACHIO
Setton Pistachio, a family-owned and operated pistachio company located in rural California, encountered difficulties in providing training to their employees due to their remote location and the potential productivity loss caused by sending staff off-site.
SJVC provided a solution by offering on-site training utilizing existing curriculum and instructors. Over the course of 2018 and 2019, 33 Setton employees were selected to receive training in areas such as Industrial Electricity, Power Transmission, and Programmable Logic Controllers for mechanics, technicians, and electricians. Managers and supervisors also received training in Principles of Management, with a focus on developing skills such as problem-solving and effective communication.
Setton Pistachio was able to provide training to its employees without sacrificing productivity by having the flexibility of customized on-site training.
