Medical & Dental Programs
Clinical Medical Assisting
Do you have a passion for helping people in the medical industry? The Clinical Medical Assisting program at SJVC’s Hanford campus teaches students entry-level skills, duties, and training needed to thrive in Clinical Medical Assisting. Whether you’re under the supervision of doctors or nursing staff, your role will have a variety of day-to-day tasks. Some of which includes:
- Maintaining patient records
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Preparing patients for exams
- Measuring vital signs, such as blood pressure
- Administering injections and medications
- Drawing blood/venipuncture

Turn your career goals into reality by earning a Certificate of Completion in as few as nine months or an Associate of Science Degree in as little as fifteen months. Graduates are also eligible to sit for the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) exam.
SJVC prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. Graduates may qualify for other certifications depending upon location and placement requirements. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.

In Medical Office Administration, you’ll get a chance to interact with patients and support the healthcare team with various tasks. From processing forms for insurance claims to managing patient appointments, SJVC’s Medical Office Administration program in Hanford is designed to train students in core skill sets.
