Clinical Medical Assisting
Medical assistants play an important role in any medical team, whether it’s in a doctor’s office, hospital, or outpatient facility. The Clinical Medical Assisting program at SJVC’s Temecula campus provides students with the basic skills needed to succeed in an entry-level position.

The Dental Assisting program at SJVC’s Temecula campus allows students to learn administrative and clinical duties that support a dental team. You’ll work with dentists and dental hygienists to perform a variety of duties, like assisting with dental procedures, taking vital signs, and performing diagnostic testing. Our Dental Assistant program features a wide range of subject areas and skills necessary for the day-to-day job. You can expect to learn:
- Dental anatomy and radiology
- Dental practice software
- Dental practice management
- Preventive dentistry
- Coronal polishing
Jumpstart your career in Dental Assisting by earning a Certificate of Completion in as little as eleven months. Once you’ve finished training, you’ll then be eligible to take the Dental Board of California Examination for state licensure.

San Joaquin Valley College offers a dynamic mix of coursework and hands-on career training in our Pharmacy Technology program at Temecula. As a student, you will have the opportunity to learn the principles of pharmacy law and ethics, computer data entry, and prescription processing.
Our program can also help you earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as nine months. Graduates are eligible to apply for licensure with the California State Board of Pharmacy. Students qualify to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) upon successful completion of practice exams administered during their course of study and with the approval of the Pharmacy Liaison.

If you’re a tech-savvy, problem-solving, and compassionate individual that’s interested in working in the medical field, a career in Medical Office Administration could be the right path for you. At San Joaquin Valley College, our Medical Office Administration program in Temecula is designed to help students learn key skills to:
- Operate and manage a computerized medical office
- Manage emergency situations requiring CPR or first aid
- Code, submit, and manage insurance claims accurately
Earn a Certificate of Completion in as little as nine months with our hands-on training, around-the-clock support, and experienced staff members. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA) exam or the National Certified Insurance & Coding Specialist (NCIS) exams offered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

In addition, we also offer clinical rotations at off-site facilities during the program. Electrical Technology
Are you interested in learning how to work safely with electrical technology? If so, then career training at SJVC’s Electrical Technology program might be a great path for you. We designed each course to help students train for entry-level employment as electrical technicians.
As an electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, or factories. Our Electrical Technology program in Temecula combines proven techniques with best practices in the field. Earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as ten months.
Graduates are eligible to take the California General Electrician’s Certification Exam, administered by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DiR). In order to be certified as a General Electrician in the State of California, pursuant to certification standards established by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, an applicant must pass a certification examination and complete 8000 hours of work for a C-10 electrical contractor installing, constructing, or maintaining electrical systems covered by the National Electrical Code.

View ProgramHeating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R)
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program at SJVC’s Temecula campus trains students on all the essentials to get started in the field. From heating and cooling principles to electrical theories, you will learn HVAC-R with hands-on practices from experienced faculty.
You can earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as ten months. Upon completing this program, you’ll also be qualified to pursue an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 certification.
