SJVC Business Office Administration

If you are ready to start a new career in the field of business but aren’t sure where to start, then consider pursuing an Associate Degree in business office administration. Office assistants work directly with CEOs, HR specialists, department managers, and other employees in an office setting.

SJVC’s Business Office Administration program allows students to learn computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office, as well as take courses in bookkeeping, customer service, and marketing. By knowing these technical skills, you may be able to get an entry-level job in several high-demand industries.

  • Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using handtools and power tools

At San Joaquin Valley College, you’ll learn how to install, maintain, and

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) technicians install, maintain, and repair temperature control equipment found in modern homes and commercial businesses. No matter where you live, there is always a need for HVAC-R technicians.

SJVC’s HVAC-R program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment, as we provide career training in:

  • Heating and cooling principles
  • Electrical theories
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems
  • Proper installation, servicing, and replacement techniques

Enroll in our HVAC classes now and earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as ten months. Graduates also have the opportunity to earn EPA 608 certification.

SJVC prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.

A maintenance technician performs preventative maintenance procedures, such as installation, minor repairs, and troubleshooting, on facility equipment. Their responsibilities may include replacing faulty parts, answering maintenance requests or calls from employees, and adjusting equipment. Students at SJVC’s Maintenance Technician program in Modesto can earn a certificate of completion in as few as 7 months or an Associate of Science Degree in as little as 14 months. Registered Nursing

Consider our Registered Nursing program. You can earn hands-on experience and an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing (ADN) in as little as 20 months.

Registered Nursing - LVN to RN Bridge

SJVC’s Registered Nursing – LVN to RN Bridge program is an advanced placement track designed to help vocational nurses qualify to become registered nurses. Earn an Associate of Science in Registered Nursing (ADN) in as few as 11 months.

Respiratory Therapy

For patients who don’t always breathe easy, respiratory therapists can help. SJVC’s Respiratory Therapy program helps students become members of important healthcare teams. Our respiratory therapist classes combine traditional coursework with hands-on training to help students prepare to work with patients who have lung or breathing disorders.

Students at SJVC’s Respiratory Therapy program will earn Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certifications while working toward their Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy.
